Business Support Manager

Salary: £30K – £38K Dependent on Experience

Full Time: 37.5 hrs per week – Flexible

Barlborough 

Purpose of Role:

WorkBox UK is a customer focused company that specialises in commercial property design and fit out, refurbishment, civil work and office furniture supply. The post holder will be required to support a fast moving Project Team in a professional manner. The role will also require the successful applicant to maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors and other suppliers on an on-going basis. The position will be mainly Barlborough office based with site visits where necessary.

 

Key Duties:

To provide comprehensive project management support for the field based project team. 

The role will include, but not be limited to:

    • Planning and organising the numerous facets of a multi-disciplined project, this includes:
    • Fit Out – Cat A & Cat B
    • General Refurbishment
    • Design & Build
    • Civil Works
    • M&E
    • FF&E
    • Cost management working with the QS on large & small projects
    • Managing the project of implementing a new project software system across the business
    • Planning & managing the project milestones through clear communication channels both internally and externally
    • Ensuring all elements of a project are planned and executed on time and on budget
    • Liaising and building strong relationships with sub-contractors
    • Managing the supply chain to ensure smooth project delivery
    • Negotiating with contractors and suppliers
    • Ensuring projects are legislation compliant
    • Dealing with all aspects of Health & Safety and CDM
    • Resolving problems and issues that arise during construction
    • Ensuring that the environmental impact of the project is managed
    • Playing a key role for all project work from concept to completion

Essential/Desirable Experience:

  • Comprehensive experience of working in the construction and fit out project management
  • Knowledge of  Building Regulations
  • Competent at producing RAMS
  • Experience of complex construction budgets and market rates
  • Proven track record with in excess of 5 years’ experience in a similar
    role and environment
  • Sound knowledge of construction techniques and materials
  • Experience in working on complicated multi-faceted projects
  • Ideally qualified in Health & Safety with a suitable qualification
    such as: NEBOSH diploma
  • Comprehensive experience of CDM
  • A desire to be a key member in growing the business

Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £40-£50K Dependent on Experience

Full Time: 37.5 hrs per week – Flexible

Purpose of Role:

The role will also require the successful applicant to maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors and other suppliers on an on-going basis. The position will be mainly Barlborough office based with site visits where necessary.

Key Duties:

To provide budgeting, costing/estimating, cost management, purchasing, project support and supply chain management for large and small projects.

The role will include, but not be limited to:

Main Duties:

  • Analysis of client tender and specification documents
  • Costing of work of all sizes fit out, construction and specialist services
  • Breakdown of key joinery and building packages
  • Packaging, tendering and analysis of sub-contractor packages
  • Supplier negotiation
  • Materials research, procurement and supply
  • Attend client tender meetings
  • Prepare budgets
  • Prepare and finalise tender documents and presentations with the Commercial Team
  • Produce project programmes for tender submissions
  • Contract management
  • Variation management 

Other Duties:

  • Site visits to monitor progress, valuations and small works
  • Liaison with Architects & Designers to obtain full design information for costing
  • Liaison with the Project Manager to ensure “Total Project Management”
  • Liaison with the Accounts in regards to financial forecasting
  • Any other reasonable duties
  • Management of supply chain and supplier performance in conjunction with Project Manager
