Small Projects Operative

Salary: Dependent on Experience

Part Time 37.5 hrs per week – Flexible

Purpose of Role:

To provide efficient and effective project support to live projects and individual minor works to include finishing coordination liaising with site/project manager and subsequent trades on site, and carry out small hands-on project works as required.

Key Accountabilities Duties and Responsibilities:

To undertake minor works to small individual projcts for various clients. These include hands-on work as well as sub-contractor coordination, supervision and management. Works would include minor repair of fixtures and fittings, new installations of materials and fittings, and alterations to internal infrastructure.

  • Responsible for coordination of suppliers, materials and sub-contractors on sites for minor works.
  • To carry out minor plumbing works including toilets, sinks and drainage etc.
  • To coordinate minor repairs where necessary as instructed by the client.
  • To coordinate minor electrical repairs and fixings.
  • To attend various sites and support current projects team to assist with completion of a live project.
  • Coordination of main trades, material deliveries and orders, hands-on support for all trades as required carrying out works as required.
  • Understanding formal escalation and review processes liaising with site management and WorkBox directors.
  • Creating and reviewing of reports for minor live projects.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and juggle multiple responsibilities at once.
  • Have a keen attention to detail for ensuring the project meets all the client’s and WorkBox standards and goals
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to lead, guide, and delegate tasks to sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Goal-driven, determined, able to meet strict deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and performing digital administrative tasks
  • Competent at basic construction skills
  • Use of small industrial/electrical/mechanical equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions, including COSHH regulations and an awareness of health and hygiene procedures.
  • Literacy and Numeracy skills sufficient to check delivery notes, measurements etc.
  • Agreement to participate in educational training opportunities to stay up to date on leadership techniques and industry standards
  • Able to drive a company supplied vehicle probably a commercial van.

Operations Manager

Purpose of Role:

WorkBox UK is a customer focused company that specialises in commercial fit out, refurbishment, construction and office furniture supply. The post holder will be required to manage significant levels of the internal operations & administrative function to a busy project team in a professional manner. The role will also require the successful applicant to maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors and other suppliers on an on-going basis.

Key Duties:

To provide general and project-specific management support to the Directors and team in an accurate, timely and professional manner. Support will include, but not be limited to:

  • Understand all operational output of the business with the ability to have a 360 degree view and control process of all project functions and timelines;
  • Set up and maintain relevant databases;
  • Set up and monitor project schedules;
  • Deal with all general office administration;
  • Carrying out specific purchasing & assist with tenders;
  • Streamline and manage the company’s internal systems;
  • Monitor projects to ensure milestones are met and required quality of service delivery is consistently achieved – update project documentation;
  • Liaise with clients where appropriate to assist the project team;
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure they have key information relating to costing and project delivery;
  • Monitor project budgets with the project team;
  • Prepare and help to develop the health & safety documentation for the business;
  • Assist in the collation and preparation of presentations for bids;
  • Coordination of site set up equipment and ongoing supplies to site;
  • Occasion errands to sites/customers;
  • Any other reasonable duties.

  • Understanding of the businesses technical services to enable assistance with basic functions
  • High level understanding and practical use of all MS Office applications (especially excel) and ICT infrastructure
